Reinsurance Claims Specialist I
The Workers’ Compensation Reinsurance Association (WCRA), a nonprofit association providing workers’ compensation reinsurance protection to all Minnesota insurers
and self-insurers, is seeking an individual for the position of Reinsurance Claims Specialist I.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate reported claims to assure compliance with statutory requirements
and sound workers’ compensation practices.
- Reconcile members’ requests for reimbursement
- Approve or deny member reimbursement requests within set authority level
- Evaluate member settlement proposals
- Evaluate future claim cost and establish judgment parameters for case reserves
- Maintain ongoing communication with WCRA members
- Advise and assist members in achieving cost-effective case management, including
contribution, apportionment, subrogation, Social Security offset, etc.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience
- Two years of workers’ compensation lost time claims experience
- Ability to make decisions and act upon them
- Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical aptitude
- Detail oriented
