Privacy Statement

General

The WCRA is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. We want you to visit our website knowing that you have control over your personal information. If you have questions or concerns regarding this statement, you should contact the WCRA at wcra@wcra.biz or 651-293-0999.

What information do we collect? How do we use it?

Anonymous Browsing

You can browse our pages without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information whatsoever. However, we log, via Superstats.com, statistical information such as the domain name, IP address and browser type of our site visitors. This information is used internally only to measure the number of visits, page views, and other statistics about visitors to our site. We also use this data to monitor Site performance and to make it easier and more convenient to use. The log file information does not contain personally identifiable information, such as name, address, phone, etc.

Personal Information Collection

Some specific applications will require you to input information such as name and address in order for us to serve you appropriately. For instance, we offer the Member Address Update and Request Newsletter forms, which allow you to communicate on-line with the WCRA. It is your choice whether to input this personal information. If you choose to give us the information via our website, refer to this privacy statement for an understanding of how that information will be used. You also have the opportunity to sign up for eNotice, the WCRA’s email newsletter. At any time you may opt out of eNotice by emailing the WCRA.

Calculators

The information you enter into one of the WCRA’s online calculators is not collected by the WCRA. The information is discarded once you exit the calculator.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer which is tied to information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. The WCRA calculators use session ID cookies; however, you may still utilize the WCRA calculators without cookies enabled in your browser. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user’s hard drive for an extended period of time. The WCRA’s eMember section uses persistent cookies. Cookies are required to use the WCRA eMember site. We also use persistent cookies in SuperStats, a program used to analyze website traffic only (ie, if you are a return visitor to wcra.biz). Persistent cookies can be removed by following your Internet browser help file directions. To learn how to remove cookies in Microsoft Internet Explorer, visit this page.

Sharing Information

We do not share any nonpublic information about you with third parties other than when required or permitted by law. We also do not sell any member or policyholder information to mailing list companies or mass marketing companies. We may compile aggregated statistics about traffic patterns and services, and we may provide these statistics to third parties who can assist us in analyzing the information to help us better provide online products and services. Should we share statistical information with third parties, it will not include personally identifiable information about our visitors.

Security

The eMember site at www.wcra.biz uses encryption and authentication tools (password and user identification) to protect your information submitted in the Loss Reporting, Reimbursement Request, and Contact Change applications during transmission over the Internet. However, please note that emails that you send us and that we send you are not necessarily secure during transmission.

The WCRA uses a wide variety of computer hardware and software tools to guard system and data privacy and integrity. WCRA's computer systems are also protected by additional measures such as network routers and firewalls intended to prevent unauthorized access.

Using the Information Gathered

The information the WCRA collects is used to answer questions or concerns and provide information requested in a timely manner.

The WCRA retains the information collected at the eMember Site on the Claims Loss Reporting, Reimbursement Request, and Contact Change page(s) for as long as required by law, by regulation, for as long as your claim is open, and thereafter for a period set by the records retention policies of the Association. At any point, users have the right to correct/update information supplied to the WCRA simply by sending an email or by calling the WCRA at 651-293-0999. At that time, the WCRA may require additional correspondence and communication with you.

Notification of Changes

The WCRA reserves the right to modify or supplement this privacy policy at any time. If we make any material change, we will notify visitors of major changes by placing a notice in the What’s New section on our homepage 30 days prior to implementing the new practice. You may wish to visit this page periodically to review the most recent Privacy Statement.
