Significant dates in Minnesota workers’ compensation can be found below and are grouped based on type of benefit.

Minnesota Statute 176.111

Dependency benefits are governed by the law in effect on the date of death; however, the date of injury governs the AWW and the date annual escalation takes place.

4-28-2000 Fatality without dependents requires payment of $60,000 to employee’s estate.
Minimum dependency compensation of $60,000.
Max burial expenses increased to $15,000.

Remarriage no longer results in termination of spouse’s dependency benefits.
